In Loving Memory of Jackson Lee Hall ("Action Jackson") 

Jackson Lee Hall, affectionately known to so many as "Action Jackson," passed away at the age of 61, leaving behind a legacy that cannot be measured by possessions or status, but by the countless lives he touched along the way. Born in Mobile, Alabama, Jackson spent much of his life in Sherman, Texas, and Laurel, Mississippi. No matter where life carried him, one thing remained constant—his remarkable ability to build relationships with people from every walk of life.

 His friends included those living on the streets, successful business owners, doctors, lawyers, ministers, and everyone in between. To Jackson, people were simply people, and everyone deserved a conversation, a laugh, and a chance to be known. He was affectionately called "Action Jackson" because life with him was rarely dull. Depending on whom you asked, he was lovable, brazen, stubborn, hard-headed, irritating, hilarious, loyal, persistent, and unforgettable. He had an uncanny ability to make people smile, spark conversations with complete strangers, and create genuine connections where others saw differences. Though life presented Jackson with many challenges, his heart remained inclined toward helping others in the best way he could. Even in death, that generous spirit continued. As an organ donor, Jackson gave the gift of life to several others, allowing hope to rise from heartbreak and reminding us that one life can continue to bless many. 

Jackson was welcomed into Heaven by his mother, Miriam Alice Davis, and his father, Vernon Harless Hall.

Those left to cherish his memory include his brothers, Carley Davis and wife, Brenda, of Laurel, Mississippi, and Jeff Mills and wife, Ginger, of Corinth, Mississippi; his nieces and nephews, Katrina Davis Rogers, Josh Davis, Justin Davis, Andy Mills, and Molly Davis; and a very special friend who became family, Bonita Flynn of Laurel, Mississippi, whose steadfast friendship was a constant blessing throughout his life. 

If you knew Jackson for more than a few moments, you almost certainly heard the words that became his trademark: "Can I ask you a question?" It was Action Jackson's way of opening a door—not just to conversation, but to connection. So perhaps Action Jackson would ask us one final question. Can I ask you a question? The next time you see someone the world has overlooked, will you see what God sees? Will you stop long enough to learn a name, hear a story, or offer kindness? Will you choose compassion over judgment? Because every life matters, every soul has value, and every person is created in the image of God. 

Jackson's life reminds us that every person has a story worth hearing, a heart worth knowing, and immeasurable value. May we honor his memory not only by remembering the laughter he brought, but by seeing others through eyes of compassion. His final gift was life for others. Perhaps Action Jackson's final question can become a gift to us all.

Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026, at The Salvation Army in Laurel, at 11:00am. Friends may come by to pay their respect between 8:00-11:00am.
